Getir Becomes Turkey’s Second “Unicorn”

Founded in 2015, Getir becomes the second “unicorn” company in Turkey, with its valuation reaching $2.6 billion. Turkish rapid delivery startup Getir raised $300 million funding for its international expansion from Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global.

The company has started its international expansion in the UK in January 2021. According to Nazım Salur, founder of Getir, the company will expand to Germany, France, and the Netherlands in the first half of 2021 and Brasil in the coming months.

Getir has also gained $128 million from Crankstart Investments, Brazilian Base Partners, Tiger Global, and Goodwater Capital back in January 2021.
